Eyüp Sultan Mosque

Eyüp Sultan Mosque Eyüp Sultan Mosque has a rectangular plan with a protruding mihrab. The central dome leans on arches supported by six columns and two pillars, there is a half dome around it, the Eyüp Sultan tomb in the middle, a spring at the foot of the sarcophagus, and a century-old plane tree in the middle of the courtyard. The mosque, which was repaired many times after it was built in 1458, was initially short in height, and new tall minarets were built in 1733. The minaret on the sea side was rebuilt in 1823 because it was damaged by lightning. The Sinan Pasha Pavilion in front of the main gate was demolished in 1798. In its place, there is a set with railings and a grass sofa under the shade of a great plane tree. There are four fountains at the four corners of the railing. These are called Hacat fountains and Kısmet fountains. Sultan III, who opened the mosque and prayed after it was repaired, Since Selim was a Mevlevi, there are Mevlevi coins on the railings. The outer courtyard has two doors opening to the street. The inner courtyard has 13 domes supported by 12 columns. The middle of the courtyard is a fountain. The tomb has a single dome and 8 corners. There is a Naqsh-i Kadem-i Saadet at the entrance of the tomb and a fountain on the right.
